Data platform and databases

Assistance user documentation for managed databases, data governance, analytics foundations, and AI-ready data paths.

Databases are the source of truth for products, operations, analytics, and AI. Assistance helps teams operate managed databases and build data platforms where ownership, access, quality, lineage, retention, and support expectations are explicit.

What this section covers#

What Assistance operates#

Within an agreed boundary, Assistance operates provisioning, monitoring, backups and restore testing where scoped, patch planning, access baselines, migration support, pipeline health, dashboards, incident triage, and change-request workflows.

What the customer owns#

The customer owns application behavior, schema meaning, data classification, legal retention rules, access approvals, provider billing, product release timing, and business communications unless explicitly contracted.

Onboarding inputs#

Prepare source inventories, database sizes, recovery objectives, sensitivity classifications, integration consumers, analytics goals, current incidents, access model, provider accounts, and known compliance constraints.

Safe-use requirements#

  • Classify personal, regulated, confidential, and secret data before broadening access.
  • Document source-of-truth ownership for shared datasets.
  • Keep backups, exports, replicas, and derived AI data under retention and deletion controls.
  • Monitor freshness, replication lag, pipeline failures, and schema drift.
  • Review migrations that affect integrations, dashboards, queues, or AI indexes.
